LibreOffice will not install on Windows 8 (64-bit)

I have seen this question asked in many other ways but believe the issues can come with the details. Plus, I was unable to resolve my issue via any other questions/answers.

I am trying to install LibreOffice_4.1.4 on a new HP laptop running Windows 8 (64-bit).

LibreOffice_4.1.4_Win_x86.msi is the file that I am running for the installation.

I have attempted to run the install via a command window and receive a similar installation error.

I have no issue running other msi execs.

Any ideas? Any help will be very much appreciated.

I desperately need to get this product installed and running ASAP.

THANKS!!!

Oh, I meant to add a sreenshot of the error message. It states: this installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.

Can you try installing 4.2?

Thanks Alexander!

I’ll give it a try and will repot back.

THANKS Alexander!, 4.2 worked like a charm and all is good.

I recently installed the new 4.2 version with Windows 8 without a problem. However, it seems that the ‘creating mailing labels’ does not like Windows 8 because I can do all the right steps and it gets hung up at the exact time a window is suppose to open showing the labels.

4.2 was downloaded and installed on my Windows 8 machine will no problem.
