When I press the space bar after writing a word in Hebrew, the letters turn into indistinguishable rectangles. How to correct this?
Did you use Calibry? In my case, changing the font to Adobe Hebrew solved the problem.
Indistinguishable rectangles can be a sign of valid Unicode characters but no matching character in the font you are using.
I assume you have complex text layout (ctl) ticked. (Tools > Options > Languages > Language settings (This enables right to left as well as left to right. It then sound as if you have not selected a font that actually contains the Hebrew characters. Can you insert valid Hebrew characters by using the Insert > Special Characters menu, like I have done using the Times Roman font in LibO. For example אבגדהוזחטיךכלםמן where I copied these characters across. Sorry I am unable to make up a few sensible words, but the text should be flowing from right to left.
What version of LibO are you using, and can you type Hebrew with other applications?.. Peter
