How do I get draw out of full screen?

When I start LibreOffice Draw, it always comes up full-screen, with no apparent way to get it in a less than full-screen window. Surely there must be some way to do that?

Lubuntu 64bit 20.04

I’m not aware of any full screen mode in Draw. However, you are on an Ubuntu 20.04 based system and if you are using LibreOffice 6.4.6.2 from base repositories (only then) , I’d suggest to

Completely remove LibreOffice using

  • dpkg --list | awk '/ii/&&/libreoffice/{print $2}' | sudo xargs apt purge --yes
  • sudo apt autoremove --yes

Re-Install LibreOffice using

  • sudo apt update --yes
  • sudo apt install libreoffice libreoffice-sdbc-hsqldb libreoffice-help-en-us --yes

Reset LibreOffice User Profile using

  • Start LibreOffice
  • Start in Safe Mode using Help -> Restart in Safe Mode and confirm the restart using button: Restart
  • Archive your profile expanding Advanced (click on the word Advanced right above Help button) and click Archive User Profile button
  • Select option Reset to factory settings
  • Activate [x] Reset entire user profile
  • Click button Apply Changes and Restart

Bet the sizing difference is due to the max size a window is open to the shrunken size is like a pixel or two.
Not enough for you to really notice. Try grabbing the window corner ans shrink it manually, If you can grab it then click the window shrink button again and give it another try. you then can notice the window size difference when you reset it .

This is what I get:

The maximize button doesn’t do anything, and I can’t drag a window corner to shrink the window.

I am on 6.4.6.2 from the base repositories, but I’ve made no changes to my profile since installation.

This is notfull screen” but a maximized window and therefore this is not related to LibreOffice but related to your window manager, which on Lubuntu by default should be LXDE.

If it were the window manager, Draw wouldn’t be the ONLY libreoffice app that exhibits this behavior…
