LibreOffice is clueless when organizing calendar dates, regardless of how I attempt to standardize the displayed format. I’m trying to persuade LO to display dates in ISO-8601 format (YYYY-MM-DD) but LO only does what it feels like doing. Sometimes the dates are correct, but other times they end up in the American hill-billy format (MM-DD-YYYY). What’s worse is when LO mixes up American and European formats since they appear similar, but they’re not. There doesn’t seem to be any way to force the correct logical display. The region settings should enforce a standard date, but don’t have any effect. The Data>Text-to-Columns tool seems powerless to force dates to behave.
