quick temporary record macro / assign to key

I want to record some actions(keystrokes, mouse actions) and assign this macro immediately to a shortcut key.

Something to quickly apply to the current document and then discard.

Something like Ctl-RCtl-R and then CtlShiftR replays the events

Something quick and easy.

I don’t see that option in any of the dialogs. Does such a feature exist?

First create the macro, note that not all commands are recorded with the macro recorder, Name and save in LibreOffice or in the file.

In Tools / Customize / Keyboard and choose the keys and link the macro.

Obs. It will only work on your machine.

I’m looking for something else, something to quickly apply to the current document and then discard. Something like Ctl-RCtl-R and then CtlShiftR replays the events Something quick and easy. Creating a macro, storing, naming, assigning to key … is too much work for a sequence of events I’m to going to use only once and throughout only this document.

Does such a feature exist?

No - not what you are looking for.

@anon73440385 Done.

Given that even the existing macro recorder is an experimental thing from the dawn of the time, and it doesn’t get any attention, I find it highly improbable that such a reasonable, but very niche request will be implemented anytime soon.

Sometimes the best option is to look elsewhere. There are a few general purpose macro tools out there, working on system level (not constrained to app).

This looks to be exactly what you requested: https://www.macrorecorder.com/
MacOS/Windows

Something else, with its limitations, but also strengths: https://www.autohotkey.com/
Windows only
