Upgraded 4.1 to 4.2. Wanted to add a program module. The install did not give the option. Just did the upgrade with no changes. I then ran the 4.2 installer again after the 4.2 upgrade. Selected Modify. Still no program modules dialog.

From where die you make the download? For which OS? Which language did you load down?

Can you be a little more specific? Which module would you like to add and which are currently installed? On Win 7 when I click "Modify" I get to a dialog which is titled "Custom Setup". Do you get the same?

You may uninstall v4.2.0, and then install it again.
Please have a look at I originally installed LibreOffice 4.x without Impress. I want to install it with 4.2.0..

Thanks anyway ROSt52 and thadsmyboy. manj_k answered below. The referenced question is very similar to my issue (except I wanted to add Base) and it appears to apply. (I am on Windows BTW.)

I see this has been addressed on the "4.2 New Features and Fixes" page...

"The option to select which Modules to install has been removed from the Windows Custom install dialog (Andras Timar). The option made little sense (all the modules are included in the program: it was just the Start Menu icons/shortcuts that were suppressed) and was a source of bugs"

I quote L-user at

I am little bit sceptical that only shortcuts where removed - why would that produce "source of bugs"? For example on my computer running LibreOffice 4.1.5 I didn't install Base and in Writer when I click Tools | Bibliography Database then Writer crashes with C++ Run time error, because some component from Base is missing. So I just can't believe that "just" Start menu shortcuts were removed.

Good News! I uninstalled 4.2 then reinstalled it. Looks like it picked up all my previous settings! (i.e. Author info, "Always Save a Copy", "AutoSave" time setting, etc.)
