I am trying to set a preference to have the delete key delete the cell contents and not bring up the delete dialog box. I read that going to tools>customize>keyboard and search for backspace key and type in delete contents should do the trick, but I get this with 100% next to the backspace key, and unable to edit it. Tried to reset to no avail.
Appreciate any help.
ATTENTION: changes in shortcuts only work on your machine, if you carry a file, it does not load the definition of the shortcut.
In the Functions field in the middle of the dialog (written Type to search), type Clear contents, select the entry that should have appeared in the bottom area under the Function column. Then select the backspace in the shortcut key in the top area, then the Modify button on the right should get actionable, click it and OK.
