I'm starting to feel like an idiot, but I can't find how to this with my citations (on ubuntu 12.10, writer 3.6, mendeley desktop 1.10)

I want:

  1. citation in text to be "author1, 2000" - text that does not appear in bibliography - that I found how to do with Mendeley, but
  2. citation is not a link after exporting to pdf.

Do I want too much? Is there a way to make cross-references with custom text? Is there a way to modify Mendeley output to a "click to follow" link?
