calc macros in windows version

Trying to record a simple copy/paste macro in Calc (Windows version, 7.1.2.2, in Windows-10) but as soon as I hit Ctrl-C, the macro stops functioning and just sits there. Also, can a spreadsheet file with macros created in Linux function in the windows version of Calc? Are there any type of macros that function both under Windows and Linux?

I have two news for you. The good news: a properly written macro will work equally well in Windows and Linux (and even MacOS). Bad news: the macro must be written correctly. You can find examples of correctly recorded macros for most daily tasks in the corresponding chapters of the Pitonyak book.
