I seem to have lost a document prepared in odt on this computer. Can't remember the doc name so want to search the computer for word strings.

EDIT-ebot Taken from answer, answer deleted.

Sorry but forgot to say that I am searching on a dell laptop with Win 10 and LibreOffice.

Search documents is a function of the operating system.

Unfortunately, you did not specify which operating system you are using.

… and unless you specify it, the only thing to suggest is Loook. It is a cross-platform utility.

@gabix, OK but:

  1. The correct address is http://mechtilde.de/Loook. If you have Linux, it is in the repo.
  2. During operation, the program generates errors, eg it searches the given path, but it puts the path from the root directory to the command line and of course soffice does not find this file to open.

Thanks for the link. I have an ancient version, it works fine for me.

DocFetcher is also a very good one.
