I seem to have lost a document prepared in odt on this computer. Can’t remember the doc name so want to search the computer for word strings.

Sorry but forgot to say that I am searching on a dell laptop with Win 10 and LibreOffice.
Search documents is a function of the operating system.
Unfortunately, you did not specify which operating system you are using.
… and unless you specify it, the only thing to suggest is Loook. It is a cross-platform utility.
Thanks for the link. I have an ancient version, it works fine for me.
DocFetcher is also a very good one.
