image lost in impress saved file

I save an Impress file in ODF format, but when I send it to others, and they open the file, finding the images lost.

( this is the original slide I have)

(this is what my mate get for the same slide, the below image is in totally white)

I have found the reason: the image is masked out in the file, and when I save and send it to others, the image displaying area moved. But the reason is still unknow (Probably a BUG).

Also it may have sth to do with the way I insert the image: I copy the image from the ppxt. file and paste it into the odt. directly. And you can see from the image below that odt. identify the image as a specific type of element iconed by image description

Are the images inserted or are they linked?

If Edit > Links to External Files is clickable then you have linked the images. If that is the case click on Edit > Links to External Files, select your images and click Break Link button. The most recent image will be embedded.

If you don’t want to break the links then either create a copy of your file and breaks the links in that, or export to pdf and use a pdf reader to display the slides (use full screen).

Whoops. I misunderstood, I thought the “below image” which was totally white, somehow hadn’t been uploaded.

It looks like another image is covering part of the first image. Have a look in Navigator (All shapes) for another image on the page and either change the order or delete the other image

If that is not the case then maybe Skia needs to be turned off in Tools > Options > View.

@Earnest
Hi Earnest, thanks a lot for the comments!

I have let my mates check the file based on your comments… but seemingly it belongs to neither of two situations…

And each of my mate when they open the odt. file, the image on slide 21 shows as different images… some a pure white (as shown in the image above), some a distorted image coming out of nowhere… it’s so wierd.

I guess it may have sth to do with the image I inserted? I just copy the image from the google slides I have and paste it in the odt. (As you can see in the latest post, in the navigator column, I found that these images have specific icon …)

So Google Slides saved as Microsoft PowerPoint, edited in LibreOffice doesn’t open correctly in Microsoft PowerPoint? That is a lot of conversions.

Do you want to save slide 21 as odp and add to your question? Click edit under your question then use the paperclip icon to upload the file.
