I have spreadsheet files that lokk like they landscape oriented for printing but when I print them they are portrait oriented prints I wind up getting TWO half sheets of print out! I need to be able to change from portrait to landscape as I ahve wasted a good bit of paper trying to figure out this problem on my own. Thanks in advance.
I suppose it:
a half size paper has been set to print. For example A5 instead of the A4. Therefore only the half of the A4 page will be printed on a paper, what is A4 size really.

Check the Scale property of the Sheet in the applied Page Style.
Or maybe there are enforced page breaks on your sheets.

Please upload your ODF type sample file here. Then we will able to examine the possible reasons, why it happened…
Use Format | Page to set the size in Calc or Writer; then when you print, make sure you set the appropriate orientation and paper size, if necessary, via the Properties button on the printer dialog.
