Auto updating of external link in calc - yes/no?

I created a spreadsheet in calc (6.4.7.2 on Linux Mint) and linked to some data in a .csv file. It links the entire file (2 rows of data). That works fine. I did not set the link to automatic update when I created it. I can force an update by navigating to Edit; Links to external data…; [Update]. Again that works fine. The dialog shows the link status as “Manual” and Update as “Manual”.

I clicked on [Modify] and set the link to update every 15 seconds. This also seems to work. If I change the remote file my spreadsheet will periodically reflect the change. However, the links is still shown as Status “Manual” and Update is also shown as “Manual”.

Is this a bug which I should report or am I missing something?

TIA,

Ken

However, the links is still shown as Status “Manual” and Update is also shown as “Manual”.

Afaik this applies to DDE connections only and it’s not really a bug, but there is room for improvement and hence you may file an enhancement request to reduce user confusion.

Thanks Opaque,

From what I am reading in the documentation it appears that the “link” to a csv file is an import only. This will do for my purposes.
