How do i embed colour photos from "Picture" menu into a writer document?

I want to make an inventory of content detail in a rental property. I want to embed the appropriate photograph next to the text in a Writer document. How do I do this? an added complication is that the Pro-forma written documentation is single-lined. will I have to reconstruct the Inventory schedule to be able to embed photographs

Can this help?

Enter the search term “Pictures”.

I would recommend using a table to lay out your inventory. The image is probably the least important item due to size constraints and can go in the right-most column. Probably you will have 6 columns: Room, Item, Landlord (tick or cross), Tenant (tick or cross), Defect description (where applicable), Image.

Decide how big your pictures will be, the available cell width is the decider, so not much more than thumbnails probably. Edit the pictures in a graphics editor (like GIMP or even batch in XnView) to that size at a resolution of 150dpi or even 100dpi. Too big and your document might become unwieldy, especially with the massive file sizes of many camera phones.

Click in the first image cell, then click Insert > Image, navigate to, and select your sized image, click Open. If the image is not completely inside the cell, right-click on it and select Anchor > As Character. Repeat… Cheers, Al
