Hyphenation not working in LO but does work in OO

Using “Get American British Canadian - spelling/hyphen/thesaurus dictionaries for All platforms
American English - hyphenation, thesaurus, 638,000+ word list”

LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 , Win XP 32 bit.

The same document does not hyphenate in LO but does in OO on Ubuntu and also Win XP.

Suggestions?

Thanks for all the great work on LO!

Roger

What aspect of hyphenation is not working? Presumably you are referring to auto-hyphenation at line end and most likely for justified text. Have you checked that the hyphenation settings in LO are set the same as for OO? Tools > Options… > Language Settings > Writing Aids > Options ensure the Hyphenate without inquiry and Hyphenate special regions are checked. Also check the Available language modules at the top (click Edit… button) and make sure there is a Hyphenation component installed.

The dialog “Edit Modules”

[ck] OpenOffice.org New Thesaurus

I will uninstall OO. If that doesn’t work I will reinstall LO

You are missing the corresponding hyphenation component, or at least it is not being recognised. I do not know how to fix this under WinXP, however that is likely why you are experiencing the problem.

Hi @RK1,

Still looking for an answer here? Did you get the correct hyphenation component installed?
