I use LO but recently I forced to use Google docs just for collaborating causes. Now after ton of modifications on my Google doc spreadsheet I want to revert back to LO.

Does anyone know how can I convert Google docs spreadsheet to LibreOffice Calc?

  • Download as .ods doesn't work because it generates plain Calc file!
  • I tired to use OOo2GD but it doesn't fix plain Calc file (ex. it didn't bring Validations)

What elements of the google doc are missing? Values? Formulas? Downloading as both ODS and XSLX preserve Formulas for me. Perhaps try downloading as XSLX and opening in Excel or LibreOffice. Some functions may not be directly translatable between formats.

Download the spreadsheet from Google Sheets. This will convert the file to an Excel file format. Open the file with LO Calc and save in ods file format. Scrutinize your spreadsheet to correct for any file conversion issues.

Google Drive supports OpenDocument 1.2 Extended strictly, and is the only OpenDocument it supports. Use that.

Alternative way is CTRL+A to select everything, then CTRL+V into Calc.
