How do I turn off hyperlinks in images pasted from the internet?

Hi, when i download game walkthroughs for my mother (she is not connected to the internet but has LibreOffice installed) the pictures only have their hyperlink addresses not the picture itself. Is there a way to be able to see the pictures and not just the web address?

Thanks

Mikey B

Have a look for download options and look for one which downloads the pictures.

If you above doesn’t help you please advice on the file format you download, the LibO version and your OS.

Hi there, i normally just copy the entire walkthrough with pictures and paste it into Libre Office (i have the latest 4.1.5 edition) and save it either in MS word 2003 xml or in ODF text document format as she has both but i only have LibO but neither works. My system is MS vista 64bit and my mothers is a MS vista 32bit. I cannot see in options where it says download with pictures.

You need to paste the text as “HTML format without comments” (Edit > Paste Special > HTML format without comments) and then select everything (or just the images if you prefer) and goto Edit > Links > Breaks Links (the last button on the bottom right of the Edit Links dialog).

NOTE: To select all images in the Edit Dialog, click on the first, scroll down, press the Shift key and then click on the last image name. Click on Break Link to break the links for all images. The list will be empty after the command has been completed.

By default none of the StarOffice descendants (Symphony, OOo, LO or AOO) pastes the images, just the links (which are useless if you are offline), so you need to break the links. Pasting in MS Word does paste the images as expected so this is quite surprising for someone migrating from MS Office.

@Pedro1 after copying, it’s possible break the links (Menu/Edit/Links) to leave the images embedded.

Thanks very much for your quick response.

@mariosv, Thanks for the tip, Miguel Ángel :wink: Rewrote the answer completely. Feel free to edit if something is missing!

@Pedro1, thanks for update.
