Hi: I was using the GETQUOTE extension successfully with Libre Office on my XP machine, now have moved to a new Windows 8 machine and am not having any luck with GETQUOTE extension. Does anyone have any suggestions. I am confused about the JAVA RUNTIME ENVIRONMENT for WIndows 8 well, maybe its all related.

The GetQuote Apache OO extension was released (v1.0) in June 2010 for v3.2, v3.3, and v3.4, and has never (officially) been updated. There does appear to be an updated version (v1.1, April 2011) however this is still quite old. It is therefore quite likely to have problems and bug fdo#63823 (closed as NOTOURBUG) would seem to confirm this.

You must install the 32 bit version of the Java RE. This may resolve the issue with this extension, or it may simply be that the extension maintainer needs to update the extension to work with more recent versions of LO.

Thank you, installing the JRE 32 bit version resolved the issue with GETQUOTE and it is working for now!
