Writer - Page count for multiple docs in a set [closed]

Hi

I have a long report to write. Its been divided into multiple docs.

I want to keep the page numbers and page count in the footer in sequential order.

I found a solution for the page number resetting but, the page count still give the number of pages in that doc and not overall.

i.e. I have doc 1 with pages 1 to 100 and want to start doc 2 from page 101. Say Doc 2 has 55 pages - I want to reflect the page count in both the docs to 155.

How do i do that ?

The only alternative for me is (a) to insert it manually OR (b) take page count out of the footer.

Any other ideas ?

Ok. I found a way out.

The way to do this is to create Master Doc and insert all the individual docs as sub docs.

Have your Header / Footer in Master document and all the styles that you want to use in all the docs. Insert the sub docs and update master doc.

You will see the master doc edit window but with all the sub docs content also shown together with it.

The page numbers and count will take care of itself.
