Shape disappears when trying to convert from 2D to 3D

I’ve added both the To 3D and the Extrusion On/Off icons to the Drawing toolbar. When I select the 2D object to be converted, the handles appear around it. When I click on either the To 3D or the Extrusion On/Off icon, the shape itself disappears, leaving only the handles visible in the work area.

I’m using version 4.2.2.1

What 2D object do you try to convert? Please look at the status bar and/or look at the tooltip, which you see before drawing the object.
