Copying from a web browser

Problem when copying from a web browser - only the text is copied. no images or tables - only plain text. How to solve the problem?

On the open browser page click Ctrl-A further Ctrl-C. Makes switching in Writer and click Ctrl-V.

Which page did you copy? Which steps did you take to copy and paste? The more details you provide, the easier it becomes to provide you an answer.

Depends on the website. Normally I’d rather try Paste Special Ctrl+Shift+V and select which items to paste. I get most of the images that way.

But pages such as C|net are served with a bunch of scripts, CSS-stylesheets and such; these are not real tables but rather a pile of positioned DIV’s. In such cases any kind of pasting won’t help much.

You can also try to save the page (all elements) and then open the HTML-page in Writer (although the C|net page does not render well).
