I'm wondering if it's possible to have a caption type textbox or something that displays the Name and/or Description given to a group of objects in Draw. What I have is drawings of equipment, and I want to tie their descriptions to their caption. If there's another easy and consistent way to do this, I'd accept that as an answer also.

There is nothing implemented to make the information in Name or Description directly visible. You have to write a macro for this task or you have to copy this information manually.

You can write the text into a textbox (the icon T in the drawing toolbar) and group drawing-group and the textbox together.

Sometimes, when I need text bind to a single shape, then I use the text property of the shape. Use key F2 to switch to edit mode; use the Text property of the drawing to position the text. The "Spacing to borders" settings allow negative values, so that the text can be outside of the drawing itself. Or you use the old Fontwork feature to let the text follow the outline of the shape.
