Cannot open any spreadsheet docs previously created using LibreOffice 4.1.6.2

All text docs are fine. Installed version 4.2.4.2 but to no avail. Running Windows 8.1
Would greatly appreciate any help.

Please describe all steps you make when you try to open these spreadsheets.

If you right-click on your spreadsheet and pick “Open with” and libreoffice, does it work?
