Tried installing libre for windows, but it says install packet could not be opened, verify with vendor that it is the windows installer [closed]

From where did you download? What did you download (=filename)?

From the Libre website and the file name was LibreOffice_4.2.4_Win_x86.msi
I'm just now realizing this is not an .exe file. I'm not familiar with .msi files

Your Download could be corrupt. Please try discarding your suspect download & try downloading again.

.msi files of LO have installed correctly for me in Windows.
