How can I report a bug without my email address up to being "visible to the public"?

Hi,

I have a bug I would like to report but when I go to create a bugzilla account the privacy notice states that my email address will be visible to the public… “https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/createaccount.cgi” REALLY? How should I go about reporting a bug without opening myself up to this threat?

Thank You,

Ryan

On the bugs webpage the email is visible only to logged-in users. See it for yourself: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31853

And no, bug report without a possibility to reach back to the original reporter usually are a waste of time. If nobody else can reproduce it and nobody can even check a few years down from now if it’s still a problem. The same goes with reporters who just don’t respond.

So really, bug reports with no email are too often useless. What should you do? If your email really is top secret (don’t worry, it’s not), you could create another email which only forwards mail when it passes your filters (e.g forward only mail which contains freedesktop or libreoffice in it).
