Why can't I copy or move a sheet within a spreadsheet document?

Hi, I’m using Version: 4.2.4.2 Build ID: 420m0(Build:2) in the English(UK) language and the sheet component.
I use ubuntu 64 bit O/S with the XFCE front end.

I am unable to move or copy a sheet within a document. I do not know about to a new document, as I feel this will be a little beoynd my simple usage.

I can select a sheet, e.g. the current sheet in the document, then when I go to Edit/Sheet, Move/Copy and Delete are not selectable, only Select and Events are enabled.

Can anyone let me know what I’m doing wrong??

Please have a look at the title bar, whether the document is “read-only”. If that is not the reason, please tell: Is it a problem with a special document or with all? Native file format .ods ? Can you alter the content in single cells ? Is it a local file or do you open it from somewhere in the network? Can you add a new sheet? Is the sheet protected?

Thanks, it is NOT a read-only document. It would appear to be a problem with some thing that I’ve done to the document, as I can move on a new ods doc. I did create the the doc in LibreOffice so not an inport/conversion issue, and as far as I can tell, it is not protected. Yes I can alter cells and it is on my local computer.
Thanks

I could duplicate your symptoms by protecting the Document (Tools/Protect Document/Document) and not entering a password. Is that the case with you?

No, I’m afraid not, but I now have the answer. Please see below.

Thanks for providing the document, that makes investigating easy. The reason is, that the document is in “record changes” mode. Goto Edit > Changes > uncheck ‘Record’ and you will be able to move or copy the sheet. The current implementation of change tracking does not allow moving or coying of sheets.

Thanks loads, A WINNER I don’t remember setting it to record, but I must have done at some stage, in an effort to fix the problem.
