Can partial data (not the whole file) from Write or Calc be linked (not embedded) into Impress? [closed]

Is it possible to link (not embed) parts of a file into Impress? Specifically, I'd like to link a chart from Calc and link a bibliography page only from a Writer document and have these links automatically updating whenever the source file changes.

I have just done a test and maybe there is a way, but I'm not sure if it works nice about retains scales for the inserted objects when the source file is modified.

Menu/Insert/Objec/OLE object/Create from file - Select the file and mark link to file. Then after double click to edit it's possible resize the window to show and what is showed.

To update through Menu/Edit/Links, seems source file cannot be open to update.

I will mark this answer up as it is the only available option, but there remain problems with the LO implementation of OLE that may never be easily solved.

Yes @oweng for me most of them about adjust properly the object size and what is showed, but once used to it, I think affordable.

Linking in Impress appears more limited than the equivalent function in either Writer or Calc. It does not appear possible to link either a chart in a Calc spreadsheet to an Impress presentation, nor a section of text in a Writer document to an Impress presentation. Bug fdo#51984 is an enhancement request to add linking capability yo the Paste Special function in Impress, but otherwise there do not appear to be any open bugs related to improving Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) for Impress.
