This is driving me crazy. I can't find out how to add an arrow to libreoffice. The help document says click on the arrow toolbar but I do not know where that is. I go to view->toolbars->drawing and all I can do is draw a line. It does not allow me to draw an arrow. Please help

Select the line you have already designed and right click on it. From the menu choose line. In the first tab you can select the style that your arrow will have to one or both ends.

I'm using LO version

Also, the toolbar containing arrows can be displayed via View > Toolbars > selecting the Drawing option. There is both a Block Arrow shapes group and a line object displayed on that toolbar by default. The line object (as @ratrace suggests) can have arrowheads added to it.
