Missing rows in LibreOffice Calc?

I have a relatively large .xls file (~10 mb) with >22,000 rows. When I open it in Calc however, I see <10,300 rows. I checked the file with nano and was able to see the bottom of the file (I know what the last row contains). Similarly, when I saved the file in Calc as a .csv file, the resulting file has <10,300 rows in both Calc and nano.

Please help!

Please add your LibreOffice version and your operating system.

Is it possible to share the file ?

I suspect that even if the file has a xls extension, maybe it’s a txt/csv/html file with xls extension, perhaps having something that breaks the import in the mentioned row.

Considering the comment of @mariosv, would it make sense to rename the file from xls to txt and csv and html and then try to import the 3 files types into Calc? Could such a procedure trigger the right filter in Calc
