Hi, I'm using libreoffice writer, 1:4.2.6.3-0Umbuntu 1 on Umbuntu 14.4 LS. Language is English. I want to copy and paste some text and photos into a text box. The text gets pasted but not the photos. If I try to insert them again to the pasted text, the 'from file' option is unavailable. What to do? thanks

The text box generated with the T icon can only take simple text, but no pictures. You can use a frame from Insert > Frame. First create the frame and size it. Then click outside the frame to leave object mode and then click into the frame to switch to edit mode. Now you can paste text and photos. Frames can take nearly the same content as the document itself. You can design the frame similar as the text box, using borders, background and shadow.
