How do I reposition a text string that I've entered?

I haven’t used LibreOffice in quite a while, and never did much with Draw.

I just want to produce a diagram with a few boxes, some text in the boxes, and some lines between the boxes.

I drew a rectangle, and then I tried putting the “text box” (“T” from the bottom toolbar) in the middle of the rectangle. It didn’t come out exactly where I wanted it, so I tried to select it so I could move it. There seems to be some non-obvious trick to “selecting” the textbox, as it just won’t do it. How do I do this?

Hi @dkarr, some special reason to not double click on the rectangle and write in it.

No idea what that means. When I double-click in the rectangle it just gives focus to the text box where I placed it. I want to move the text box, not add text to it. In any case, it looks like the text gets centered in the box. I noticed the context menu for the text box has the “Alignment” submenu and “Text…” dialog, but none of those help. At this point, I’m just going to settle for the text being centered. It wasn’t quite what I wanted, but it’ll work.
