Whenever I open Writer or Calc, it modifies several seemingly random documents that are in the same folder as the document that I want to edit. It also seems to hang while it does this (probably because it draws processor time for doing this).

It's a problem as the "date modified" is an important indicator for me, working with my files. It also causes the affected files to be backed up, when they shouldn't really be.

Is this a bug? If not, can I turn it off?

Many thanks.

What platform are you on? What version of LibreOffice are you using?

LibreOffice 4.3.4001 on Mac 10.6.8, using the English language version of LibreOffice. The OS's language is English, too, but the number formats are German (as I'm in Germany), so you have commas instead of dots for currency (if that matters here)

I thought I remembered recently seeing a bug report fro something like this. Now, I cannot find it. I am sorry for the bother.
