Whenever I try to insert a formula in LibreOffice Writer, some weird characters appear instead of the normal formula.

Below is an image showing the problem. The font I'm using is the default one (Liberation Serif). I'm running LibreOffice on Windows 7.

How can I fix it?

What is your OS? It seems some font(s) are not correctly installed (or wrongly replaced). This will not be a problem exclusively on the LibO Math side. Did you try to reset the fonts used by the formula generator to default setting? The attached document is showing them.43158FontProblemMath.odt (Excuse the "prober", please.)

On my system a Writer document containing 'StarBats' text will get replaced it with 'Starsymbol' on Save/Reload. ... There are issues ...

The problem randomly solved itself... But thank you anyway :D
