I'm using LO Version: 4.2.8.2 -- how can I create a border around on image/picture in LO Writer?

There is no choice for that in the Format menu...what am I missing? I can't attached a screenshot since I don't have enough points (whatever that means).

Reply: Is there some way I can send you the screen shots of the menus? The choices you mentioned do not appear in either the drop-down menu or the menu that comes up when I click on the image.

Thanx for being patient and helping.

You can sent me the screenshots: rb.henschel@t-online.de . Please attach a single page document too, which has such image you want to give a border.

Click on picture. Menu Format > item Image... > tab Borders.

The item might be "Picture" instead of "Image", depending on you LO version. You can access this dialog via context menu (right click) as well. Or if you do not need the full styling features of borders (e.g. different colors for the edges, defining spacing) you can use the "Line Style" and "Line Color" icons of the "Frame" toolbar. This toolbar should open, when you click on the picture, otherwise you can open this toolbar via menu View > Toolbars.
