Writer - How do I put a column in a table into a new row below each column?

I have 200 items that look like this:

I want to select all of it, copy it, and paste it into a new table so it looks like this:

Is this possible?

Its hard for me to know what words to web search for to find what i want.

Can it be done in Excel using a script?

I don’t know what you need to in EXCEL which is Microsoft, but in LibreOffice Calc you only need to create a short macro.

I recommend to have a look at the free guides which you can download from http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/documentation/ to learn how to write such a short macro.

As the original question focused on Writer: I don’t think there are tools for this in Writer. Most likely programming a custom ‘Sub’ will be needed. (What kind of objects are kept in the 3rd column?)

(Excluding the objects it’s doable in Calc by formulae.)

In addition: The target structure of the table is very unhandy. The questioner should consider to review his needs and intentions once more.

(I have not enough expertise in this field to try an actual answer.)

@Lupp - The question was “Can it be done in Excel” and I first thought about “Transpose” but the order needs to changed and all in 1 line. Thus I concluded an Calc macro is needed. - Maybe some Calc macro specialist can give a guide on how to write the macro.
