Microsoft Word has it’s own help files. Why do I have to sign up and make yet ANOTHER account just to find out how to change the default font style in my LibreOffice?
I did find the answer here, but why can’t I just have the answer inside the program?
There is a large green button “HELP FOR OFFLINE USE” on the download page http://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/
If you are using a non portal version of LibO you can download and install a free of charge helpfile for off-line help. There is even a chance that you can get in your own language?
Install the helpfile and press F1 or click Help and there it is at your hand.
Additionally, I recommend to have a look at the free guides which you can download from http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/documentation/
Thus, even more on hand off-line. As you compared to Microsoft Word, does Microsoft Word provide a free of charge manual?
I suppose @ROSt53 wanted to relate to a version installed with respect to the specific OS as opposed to LibreOffice as a “PortableApp”?
If so I would like to point to the fact that pasting a copy of the unpacked offline help folder, named with the language to use, including all its contents, into the
“PortableApps\LibreOfficePortable\App\libreoffice\help”
path will also provide offline help (Unpacked for Win, of course! PortableApps are made for Win, but also working with ‘Wine’.)
@Lupp - Yes I meant to write “portable” but created a stupid typo.
Thanks for the hint with the off-line help file for portable versions. I like to have an off-line help for portable versions because I use them for back-up purpose for presentations or when I am forced to use a different PC with PowerPoint.
What I would really like to have is a USB stick with Linux as OS on the stick, LibO as an application on the same stick and this stick should then run on any Windows of Mac machine…
