I am using 4.2.8.2 LibreOffice Writer on Windows 7 (32-bit), but problem started while I still had version 4.1 and then I upgraded. The problem is that Writer complains that .odt files are corrupt when I try to open them, and also corrupts them when I save them. Here are the details:
-
Problem seems to be user-related. When I log in as a different user on the same computer, it doesn’t occur.
-
Previously created .odt files are declared corrupt and Writer can’t fix them, even if they open correctly on a different computer or as a different user on this computer.
-
New files created and saved by Writer seem to be corrupted when opened on another machine. Also, MS-Word (on original machine) complains that they are corrupted, but can fix them and open them, no errors found in the text, and then MS-Word can save them uncorrupted.
-
I tried uninstalling LibreOffice, checked that nothing remained in Registry and C:\Program Files\LibreOffice, and deleted C:\User\username\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice, then reinstalled LibreOffice, but that didn’t change anything.
-
Problem doesn’t seem to extend to .ods files.
I am stumped. Does anyone have any ideas?
