[FEATURE REQUEST] warn the user when he doen't have the needed font

Every time when I opened a microsoft office .ppt/.pptx or .doc/.docx file, i experienced a misbehavior that showed images behind text, making me think that it was a libreoffice/openoffice bug.

I have been wondering since like 4 years when you will correct this misbehavior,
and yesterday I realized that I just needed the correct truetype fonts.

I think that people (like me), should be warned when they try to open a file that need a particular font. Maybe a warning window with the “don’t show me this warning again” tipical checkbox.

People will know that it isn’t a bug and that is due to a missing font in his computer.

Guys, you have done a great job.

Your entry is not a question, so we can’t answer it. What’s more, this website is not a bug tracker : this is not a place you can request features. Instead, you should go and search https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/ for similar requests. See this one especially : http://bit.ly/Ryzo6u

(Answer for resolution)

Hi @wazaaap,

As @hyogapag notes, this isn’t a bug per se. However, it’s possible that we should proselytize a bit more on this front so that people don’t think that there’s something wrong on LibreOffice’s end!

Please file an enhancement bug and provide as much information about this new feature as possible. Don’t forget to mark your bug as an ‘enhancement’. The QA team will be happy to help you triage your feature request in the bugtracker.

Please post a link to any bugs you file in a comment below using the format “fdo#123456”.

Thanks!
