I want to change the speech marks in libre office, and have done the insert special character but does not make my selection default so have to change every time. How do I make the change the default?

To specify the AutoCorrect options for quotation marks:

Menu Tools → AutoCorrect Options... → Localized Options →

  • Single quotes ☑ Replace
(Default, or select the special characters for start quote / end quote)
  • Double quotes ☑ Replace
(Default, or select the special characters for start quote / end quote)
