Have done several articles on my LibreOffice & when I go to send it as an attachment, a pop up claims it has to close! I can recover it …It has worked fine many times before…any answers or solutions?

Did you try to save the document locally and add it as attachment from inside your mail client?
Or try reseting the user profile: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile, sometimes is the miraculous water.
