With libreoffice 4.4.0.3 writer i save a file as a doc.
When I open the doc in word I see a series of comments in the write column.
sample comment block:
Normal 0ALWAYS save as .odt - saving as .doc risks loss of formatting.
You have switched off the warning LO gives you when you don’t save as .odt!!! Switch it back on in Options.
