split view for single document

Hello everyone,

I 'd like to have same view as in Word97, i'd like a split horizontal view from the same document.

Have u got news about an eventually update wich would create it ?

I don't know of any method to split one window to view the same document (in Writer). But you can create another window that views the same document by using Window -> New window.

In Calc, you can also choose a cell and then use Window -> Split or Window -> Freeze. That will split your window into two and allow you to move each side separately.

If I understand your question correctly the answer seems to be "no" but you can use the new window menu option to open another window to the same document then arrange the two windows any way you want. You can scroll the contents of each window as you please.

I use it to split the book I am writing. The top window is the finished formatted chapters and the bottom window my random workspace and notes I have temporarily stored at the bottom of the document. I just cut/paste from there to the good part of the book.
