How can i change the font size of heading numbers?

I’ m using Libre Office writer Version: 4.3.5.2 on Win 7

I am working on a long proposal, sub-divided into sections, each with a numbered heading. Am using modified versions of Heading 1, Heading 2 etc, but cannot work out how to make the font size of the heading number adjust to match font size of the heading text. I would be grateful for a pointer or two . . .

The font size is automatically the same.

Please provide details on how you make a line a heading.

A screenshot would be helpful.

Ideally attach a small file with the heading numbers as you applied them. No real text this is a public forum.

Thanks for the comment.

I have now fixed the problem - I had set character styles in Tools > Outline Numbering by mistake. I clear the Character Style fields, and the problem disappears.
