OS X 10.10 Libre office English

I have many inserted pictures. I want to add a description to them which is not treated as normal text. What is happening now is I simply go in the first line under the inserted picture and type my description and set the size of the text to italic and smaller. However, whenever I add another line above the picture, the descritption slides one line down... Is there a way to tell Libre Office that this is the description of the pciture and shall always stay with the picture? If not, can I fix the position of the text?

When you use "Insert Caption" the picture it put into a frame and the description too. So they stick together.

Another way is to anchor the picture as character and write the description in the same paragraph.

Or anchor the picture to a paragraph and enable the option "Keep with next paragraph" for this paragraph on the 'Text Flow' tab of the paragraph properties dialog.

Or enter picture and description in a table, which has no border lines.
