Recently started a project comparing features of different ‘office replacements’ and was using LO Writer(latest stable release) heavily . . . er, . . . for writing. Then I discovered extensions and started installing them. Some confusion arose because while some extensions appear specific to LO and others to AOO, they both use the same extensions. While installing one (and I am sorry I don’t remember which one – it has been a couple of weeks just getting logged onto this site due to a rather nasty gmail error – it crashed LO to the ground. Now, I can’t use it at all – I can’t even reinstall it (well, technically, I can remove and reinstall but the new installation crashes on start-up every time). Tried looking for remnants of code floating in the registry and deleting everything from the ssd install and any other miscellaneous flotsam and jetsam that might be hanging about but nothing has been found.
Working with multiple machines and os’ here but this occurred on our new Windows 8.1 MS Surface Pro 3 (512gb, I7 chip); don’t want to report it as a bug unless it is . . .
