Draw export to PDF / SVG text errors

Using LibreOffice 4.3.5.2 on MacOS X 10.10.2 (Yosemite)
I encounter problems exporting LibreOffice Drawings to PDF, fonts do no show up (it’s only Courier New and Arial Black), I get the following error message with Acrobat 10.1.1 :

An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly.
Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem.

Note that in LibreOffice, I selected File / Properties / Font / Embed fonts in document

ODF test document is under http://goulnik.com/all81.odg

Interestingly, I tested this under Windows and PDF export works like a charm… SVG export does have the same issues with text rotation and scaling though.
Best way I found in the end is install Ubuntu over Parallels Desktop on MacOS and do the pdf export from there, hoping the MacOS export from LO is eventually fixed

partly answering my own request :

  • there is some improvement after installing LibreOffice 4.4.3.2, fonts do show up, no error message
  • however, character spacing is ignored : condensed / expanded are all displayed with default spacing

on a related subject, SVG export does not work correctly either, text rotation is ignored.

for these exports to work :

  • all rotated (resp. condensend/expanded) text must first be converted to curve (then resp. scaled)

There’s at least one known bug with exporting to PDF in 4.4 on any version of OS X, see bug #88941. That bug does not affect 4.3, though.

thanks, but that’s about Writer. What I am experiencing is with Draw, along with other, somewhat minor text glitches. But this one is a real annoyance. Yet 4.4 has an improvement over 4.3
