How do you add a Chapter Name?

I can’t seem to find a way to add Chapter Names to documents; I mean, if I use the INSERT FIELD feature to add the Chapter NAME, or Chapter NAME and Numbering, to the header, it shows a blank gray spot for the Chapter NAME.

You first write the chapter name in the text, then highlight it, and then go to the insert field command to create the chapter name. The value of the title is actually defined as an interval in the document. If you subsequently change the content of the interval, any cross-references defined as ‘insert reference to reference’ will then automatically update in LibreOffice’s own sweet time. Updating is fairly swift, but not instantaneous.

When you insert the Chapter name field (menu Insert Fields More Fields, Document tab) you can specify the level (default: 1).

For the field shows something there must be in the page at least one paragraph applying the style defined in Tools Outline Numbering same level (default: Heading 1).
