Often i press the spacebar for pagedown in a document, like on the internet. It would be handy if the possibility would exist to change the status of the spacebar for this purpose.

Given that the primary function of Writer is to serve as a word processor, I don’t think that many people would want to make the space bar do anything other than insert a space character into the document…
That being said, you may look under Tools → Customize → Keyboard; I’m not sure that interface actually allows you to customize any key on the keyboard to perform any action. For that, you might need a separate extension/program.
And of course, please feel free to file an enhancement bug and provide as much information about this new feature as possible. Don’t forget to mark your bug as an ‘enhancement’. The QA team will be happy to help you triage your feature request in the bugtracker.
