I have a calc sheet that derives its original data from external sources prior to my using a macro to do all the manipulation. I manually break the links before running the macro(using edit:links works but it is the only manual process and it would be nice to eliminate a routine step). The last function the macro completes is saving the modified file, is there any way to either in the macro or in the save/save as process break the links to the source data?

I could answer this if you would reopen the question. I just solved the same problem.

breaking a link with a macro could also be used to update a link with a macro? I would very much like to know/see your solution @user7610
